I started with this new type of yearmix on the 10th of octobre and now I'm on 48 minutes. Tracklist would be around 100 tracks and pop, rock and dance is included.

The YPOD yearmix is dancemusic straight on, with a lot of mashups and (anti)climaxs. The MEC yearmix will be a lot of music (of course) but also a lot of edits & cuts blended in. Using edits & cuts was a speciality of Peter Slaghuis, who used it in a lot of remixes and yearmixes back in the eighties.

So don't expect a smooth flow of tracks, but a creativity of tracks with beats and tones.

 

Until now I'm 80% happy with the result, so still need to change some edits & cuts or adding/removing tracks because it doesn't sounds great. Also still 10 minutes to finish until the 56-58 minutes.

 

There is now airplay yet, so if anyone dares to do this type of yearmixes, please let me know.
